Joan Tierney: I was born and grew up in Peterborough, first on Old Street Road and later at 23 Pine Street. In both houses I could see Mount Monadnock every day and always marvelled at the sight. As a result I have painted it countless times. I also enjoy painting seascapes, old Barns, and many other New England subjects. Through the years I have taken many workshops with nationally known artists, have studied and practiced and displayed at many venues. I have painting classes weekly at my home in Wilton, some participants have been winning awards lately and they are giving me a run for my money.
